JICC Mascot
Nene-chan

PROJECT INFO:
Let's Learn Japanese Illustration Series for JICC, Embassy of Japan
PROJECT SCOPE: Solo project; characters co-designed by Tiffany Chen & Luciana Daniela Mujica-Martorell
PROJECT DURATION: 1 week (approx.)

DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this illustration series is to introduce Japanese vocabulary to the Embassy of Japan's audience members through "sumi-e"-inspired art. Characters used are original designs from three illustrators (including myself) with the cat Nene-chan representing the JICC, Kana-chan as an unofficial mascot for the main Embassy of Japan, and the three "kuroko" siblings (named Ni-kun, Hon-kun, and Go-kun) as their caretakers. I workshopped the design of these characters as my first assignment as the JICC Designer in Fall 2022 and in 2023, continued to work on their background stories and copy for the JICC's upcoming new 2024 Brand Guidelines.

TOOLKIT: Clip Studio Paint, Photoshop, Illustrator
